The opening address was delivered by national ABOTA President Steven W. Quattlebaum, from Little Rock, Arkansas. U.S. District Court Judge William G. Young, a longtime advocate for the jury trial system, also appeared as the featured speaker.
Judge Young received ABOTA’s William Whiting Award for Judicial Courage, while the James Esdaile Jr. Award for Civility and Professionalism was awarded to Christopher A. Duggan, the 2007-2008 president and former member of the board of directors of the national organization.
The program included the induction of Kathy as President as well as the other 2023-2024 officers: Vice President Russell X. Pollock and Treasurer Dana Zakarian. The entire Sheff & Cook team would like to extend our congratulations to Kathy on this achievement!
ABOTA’s mission is to protect the right to trial by jury before an independent judiciary.
